First of all - eye candy. Leland (Maggie's son), Chelsea, Caleb and Dylan. Snack time!
So - long time coming huh? It has only been what, another 3 months? So, other than failing miserably at that things have been fairly good in the Noerr household. In actuality, I had a few people tell me that they used to read regularly when I posted - back when I did it regularly - and asked why I stopped. Short answer? Boredom / apathy.
First of all, Leah. She is recuperating very well, and more rapidly than I think her or I expected could happen. Her energy and strength is coming back to points that were pre-stroke, and with all the different medication changes under control I think she is well on the way to recovery and being back in title bout form.
She now is looking at having her shoulder fixed - which may just need to have surgery. She had an MRI yesterday, and we hoping that the results of that give us a good reason / indicator of why she has had so much shoulder (linking to back) pain for the past 3 years.
Hopefully - all going well - she will be released from the current situation on our anniversary in August, and then be able to have surgery soon there after to eliminate / severely lessen the massive amount of shoulder / neck / back pain she has been having.
Now - the kids. They have been fairly well (knock on wood). Sickness has not ravaged us but one or two times in the past 3-6 months that I can recall. More so, it has been allergy, tooth, and attention demanding season. Caleb has taken to throwing fits when he wants, what he wants. It isn't working, and he is starting to get the point that we don't recognize his demands, but man is it frustrating! He has taken to asserting himself at bed time / nap time / whenever he wants that it is his rules - mama says no!
He has finished his first year of Pre-School, and things went well, we suppose. A great introduction to the social aspect of school, but we need him to be more focused and have higher expectations set on him like we do at home. When we sit with him, or watch him do work / color / draw, his letters, numbers, and pictures are amazing. He drew a bus and a train yesterday better than Leah can draw. However the work he was bringing home was ... lets say ... less than satisfactory.
He continues to make leaps and bounds in many different educational ways and in many different aspects of knowledge - which surprises me and makes me laugh and proud on a daily basis (and Leah). He makes fun and sarcastic comments (which some day will bite us in the arse), he comes out with knowledge / information that we just don't know where he gets it, and is genuinely a helpful guy who is interested in learning on a daily basis. (Most days).
Chelsea and Dylan are also growing like weeds. Well, Chelsea isn't, but she IS getting smart ;). She is still a pipsqueak but both her a Dylan are in cahoots. They are both little devils and have fun stealing stuff, running away, and deliberately not doing what we tell them, and at this point it is still (kind of) cute. They are teething, growing hair, and fingernails just like they should - I guess. Their receptive language is amazing, but as much as they are talking - and I know don't compare kids - but Caleb was having full on conversations at this point, and they well, aren't.
Chelsea HAS started to say Mama all the time now, (along with Dylan) and many other words that you can understand, and lots that we do but you wont. Tonight - I swear she said plain as day - broccoli. She is the ring leader of the 3, and steals things when you aren't looking, then hides them. She also is the shopper, the outgoing party girl (future woo girl here), and will be the first to spend the night any where on her own.
Dylan is a Daddy's boy. He will cry when I am not here in the morning, and snuggles me all the time - both at bed and morning time, as well as when I come home from work. It is nice to have one of them love me best, I must admit, but sometimes now I understand (somewhat) how Leah feels being needed from all sides all the time - and only with 1 of them!
I have been trying to give Leah more away time - and take the kids myself, or go and bum rush Noona and Pap Pap (my parents) for dinner and playtime, but it is hard to find things Leah wants and is able to do right now. Hopefully, as she is cleared for more activities there will be more things she can and wants to do!
I am also being very dedicated to my job and workouts right now. Things are really picking up for us at work - 4 trucks running quite nearly 24/7, looking for another CDL driver, and potentially purchasing a 5th unit here some time soon. Both of our facilities are leased out full term, and we are finding additional work to support our local trucks, and while our smaller building may be empty come April of next year I am already building a pipeline to fill that before the current tenant goes away.
My workouts are also going well. I am now in week 5 of going 4 or 5 days a week - with a weight cycle and cardio cycle each day. It is something for me, that I feel has helped me be a better person - exerting that energy and releasing that stress has been very good for me at home and at work. My personality is different, I am happier, less stressed, less quick to anger, and more amenable to most situations and curve balls I get thrown.
So let's see. Leah, check, kids, check, work, check, me check. Not too bad for a 12:30 AM post!
Until next time.
